Vegetable or other serving bowl in the Athena pattern, made of porcelain by Arzberg of W. Germany, circa 1975. The pattern came in plain white, as well as this variation with a wide, cobalt blue band around the bottom (in the case of the plates, etc, it was a wide blue center circle). The form is very modernist, almost severe, though the exterior has fine ribbing for added interest. It will mix and match well with any mid-century, Danish modern, white porcelain table service.
Size: 7-3/4" diameter; 3" high
Condition: Excellent, with no chips, cracks, or flakes. The cobalt blue enamel is in near mint condition, with just one tiny pinhead sized loss at the base (shown magnified in close-up photo), which is not seen in use, but only under close inspection.
