An extremely rare teak and metal trivet by Jens Quistgaard for Dansk Designs from the 1960s, designed to fit as an insert or inlay on a large Surfboard tray. Can be used with or without the tray for dual serving purposes. The trivet fits within the tray’s carved, raised lip to prevent slippage and spilling.
The teak slats are joined by two long lightweight metal rods, aluminum I believe, which are very slightly flexible, so that the trivets can either sit flat on a table, or bend slightly to fit the curve of the surfboard tray.
Made in Denmark.
Size: 19-1/8" long x 9-1/4" wide.
Condition: Very good - excellent used condition. I find one wood splinter lost on the side (interior) of one of the slats, see last photo. No other issues.
