This rectangular, matte white porcelain vase from Rosenthal, Germany, was designed by noted modernist artist Martin Freyer for Rosenthal’s Studio Line. From the Fossil series, this textured, relief vase appears to have some sort of paleolithic tribolite embedded in its sides. It has the same circular motif on each of the large rectangular sides, while the striated texture (appearing as sedimentary rock?) continues around the entire vase.
The interior of the vase is finished in a high gloss white glaze. The bottom is marked as shown in the photo, with the Studio-Linie mark and Freyer’s signature. It retains its original retail paper label, as well.
Don’t miss this extraordinary vase. It will add a wonderful presence to your mid-century/Danish modern decor.
CONDITION: Excellent. No chips, cracks, or fleabites. The interior is immaculately clean. The bottom shows normal shelf wear.
SIZE: 10"h x 5-1/2” x 3-3/4"
