A striking, textured crystal ice bucket, molded in a cubist form, made by Lindshammar Glasbruk of Sweden. The exterior texture is a sort of fine ‘orange peel’, while the interior is flat and clear crystal. The top rim is scalloped, corresponding to the x’s and diamonds of the cubist form. It is a mid-century piece, dating to the early 1970s, possibly designed by Gunnar Ander.
It could also be used as a stylish wine cooler. It retains its original sticker which reads, Handmade by Lindshammar in Sweden, as shown in the photo.
The bucket has a removal chrome handle which is held in place by two small welded pins, one of which retains the original, rubber-like casing to protect the glass. The absence of this very small casing on the other side does not affect the security of handle’s hold or its look. Mentioned only for complete accuracy.
SIZE:5" high x 6-1/2" diameter; 8-3/4" to top with handle upright.
CONDITION: Excellent. No chips, cracks, scratches or fleabites to the glass. The chrome handle is flawless. There are a couple of air bubbles in the glass, original to the making, but none of them burst. Truly an exception piece of Scandinavian modern art glass.
